This is the largest of the entrances into the Knipple glacier. Massive amounts of water run off of the surrounding mountains and carve out the glacier as the rivers flow underneath and through the ancient ice flow. An airplane could easily fit in the giant “crystal ball room”. We followed the river through the glacier for about a kilometer until we had to crawl on hands and knees to maneuver through the ice. The ice is crystal clear in the tunnel and you can see air bubbles frozen in time in the walls as far as your headlamp will shine.
Pull on a pair of these and head for the hills. Your own adventure awaits you!
